Single Origin: Guatemala Carrizal
Our Guatemala Carrizal coffee hails from the south central region of New Oriente, near the border to Honduras. The beans are grown in rich volcanic soils at elevations of 1300-1700m. Once harvested, they are fully washed and sun dried resulting in a coffee that is well balanced with a clean finish, savoury notes and hints of cocoa.
We roast to a Medium-Dark profile while still maintaining the coffee's enjoyable flavour characteristics.
Food Parings: Sliced apples dipped in caramel sauce, chocolate cake
Recipe for the perfect cup of Lions Bay Coffee
- Use fresh, cold, filtered water and ensure your coffee maker/machine is clean
- Select the best grind for your brewing method and grind just before brewing:
- Espresso = Fine Grind
- Filtered = Medium Grind
- French Press = Coarse Grind
- Measure 2 rounded tablespoons (15g) ground coffee for every 8 oz. (227 ml) water.
Coffee has 4 enemies: Heat, Moisture, Light and Air. To help preserve the freshness of your beans, keep your coffee cool, dry and dark in an airtight container (not in the refrigerator). Grind and brew your beans within a week of opening.
